Learning to meditate helps develop clarity and strength of the mind. We live in a fast paced and uncertain world and meditation practice helps us to work with the stresses and strains of modern life. Long known by the ancient masters of the east, these benefits are now recognised in the fields of medicine and science. Meditation is a tool you can use to grow, understand and fortify yourself. Try it and see! The day will comprise of meditation instruction, teachings on mindfulness practice and experience of sitting meditation practice.
There will also be printed handouts on meditation practice and an audio recording of the teachings for all participants.
This is a great program for beginners to meditation and a useful refresher for those who may have let their practice lapse and need a boost or a re-start.
‘ our own mind is our worst enemy. We try to focus and our mind wanders off, we try to keep stress at bay, but anxiety keeps us awake at night . . . We can create an alliance that allows us to actually use our mind, rather than be used by it. This is a practice anyone can do.’
